"RECYCLE MICHAEL" 60-second radio public service announcement

ANNC: It’s time once again for Trash Talk (musical hit or singers). The only show where we talk nothing but trash. I’m your host, the titan of trash, the ruler of refuse, the god of garbage, Recycle Michael. Let’s take a call from Rockville.

WOMAN: Hi, Michael, this is Shirley, and I run a restaurant here and I was just wondering whether the Montgomery County Business Recycling Law applies to us.

ANNC: A restaurant eh? Well, here’s some food for thought: All Montgomery County businesses, no matter how big or small, need to start a recycling program. It’s the law. So, Shirley?

WOMAN: Yes, Michael?

ANNC: Do it without reservations. Next caller please.

GUY: Um, I’ve just been appointed recycling coordinator at our big eight accounting firm, and I’m not sure what it is we have to recycle.

ANNC: Well, let me give you my big eight: Office paper, corrugated cardboard, newspaper, aluminum, steel/tin, glass, plastic, and yard trimmings which can simply be (the voice) Grasscycled. But, that’s another ad. Next caller.

MOTHER: Michael?

ANNC: Uh.... (Embarrassed) Hi Mom.

MOTHER: Listen sweetie. I think it’s wonderful that you recycle at home too, but you’ve got to take it to the curb dear. I can’t even get my car in the garage any (click....dial tone)

ANNC: Oops, bit of bad luck there. Let’s break for a word from our sponsor.

VOICE: (Don Pardoeish) Trash Talk is proudly sponsored by Montgomery County Division of Solid Waste Services. When you recycle at work, you’re in good company.
