John Philip Sousa Middle School
3650 Ely Place, SE
Washington, DC 20019
Project Description
The school was approved for modernization in 2001; groundbreaking occurred in April 2003, but the project languished five years until OPEFM took over the effort. At that time, OPEFM, recognizing the historic importance of this 1950s-era school, immediately worked to ensure that the building’s landmark exterior was preserved.
The scope of work included complete modernization of all systems, including HVAC, electrical, plumbing and interiors.
