Heard straight from Google Headquarters today!
Google has made some big changes to the way desktop users will view Google AdWords advertisements on search pages.
Previously ads could be seen on the right-side column of the search page. This right-hand column of ads has now been completely removed and up to four Google AdWords will be shown at the top of the search bar listings. As many as three ads will be shown at the bottom of the page.
This change was made to make the desktop experience similar to the mobile experience. Google has been testing this layout for several years now but did not completely roll out the new layout feature until Monday morning.
