Horizon Technologies Amber Users’ Workshop In Singapore

London, UK — On 4 December, 2019 Horizon Technologies held an Amber users’ workshop in Singapore at the historic Singapore Cricket Club. The event was jointly sponsored by Horizon Technologies and the UK High Commission in Singapore (DIT/DSO). John Beckner (CEO), and Gary Goodrum (CTO) led the sessions on behalf of Horizon Technologies together with their local Singapore partner. There were seven different Singaporean government agencies in attendance and the working groups focused on the various APIs required for different agencies, geofencing, data latency, new orbits, and some of the more sensitive issues regarding L-Band/Sat Phones geolocation and monitoring.

The Horizon Technologies Amber users’ workshop was held at the historic Singapore Cricket Club.

Horizon Technologies’ CEO, John Beckner, stated, “We are happy to have Singapore as an Amber partner. Singapore is in a strategic location in Asia and is a leading regional consumer of Maritime Domain Awareness data. When Amber data starts flowing it will be a key component in the government of Singapore’s MDA effort for Singapore and the whole region.”  Beckner added, “We were fortunate to have an outstanding group of attendees due to the fact that we currently work with NMIC in the UK and because we are a Public/Private partnership with the UK Government. Without the support from the High Commission and the UK Government, this event could not have taken place.”
